As Revolution’s College Advisory Director, Coach Sliwinski will take on a key role in the development of Revolution United players, in particular, he will fulfill these functions for the premier soccer club: COLLEGE ADVISORY DIRECTOR Develop and execute a College Advisory Program to guide and educate Revolution United FC players and their families in these areas: High School player follow-up – Monitor Revolution United High School players during their High School season and provide feedback College Research Assistance - Provide guidance for players and their families during this process College Preparation – Provide relevant information on both academic and athletic “alignments” for the players. (i.e., which schools may be the right fit for their athletic and academic ability) Admissions Counseling - Review biographical information that the players may have prepared themselves College Athletics – Provide a forum (e.g., an evening discussion) to address any questions that the players and their families may have Recruiting - Educate players and families on recruitment procedures and expectations College Contact Preparation – Help players develop their soccer brochures/resumes. Coach Sliwinski will also provide these services for Revolution United players: Nutrition - Help develop a curriculum to educate players and parents on proper nutrition for athletes, Fitness - Help develop a curriculum to include fitness sessions for all teams. About Coach Sliwinski Maciej Sliwinski is part of the Fairfield University men’s soccer staff as an assistant coach after spending the last five seasons an assistant at Radford University. Under the guidance of Head Coach Marc Reeves, Radford earned the Big South regular-season title and reached the Conference tournament championship game. During his tenure at Radford, the program posted 47 wins in five seasons including double-digit win totals in 2014 (12) and 2012 (10). Radford led the nation in goals against average (0.88) in 2014 which helped the team set the longest winning streak in the nation at seven games and the longest unbeaten streak at 11 contests. Academically, Radford produced the Big South Scholar Athlete of the Year a year ago and earned a team GPA award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the fifth straight season. The program boasted four Academic All-Americans over the last three seasons. Sliwinski served as an assistant coach at Lafayette prior to his arrival in Virginia. He began his time at Lafayette for the 2009 campaign, helping the Leopards to a 10-7-2 overall record and a trip to the Patriot League semifinals. At Lafayette, he supervised the goalkeepers, including Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Phillip Nelson. His resume also includes St. John’s University where he worked two seasons in 2007 and 2008. His time under Head Coach Dr. Dave Masur was successful, as St. John’s earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the national semifinals en route to a 19-3-3 overall record. A native of Poland, Sliwinski played four seasons at Iona College where he was a two-year captain and was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team. During his time at Iona, he interned with the New York Red Bulls where he assisted in team operations and game preparation. Sliwinski earned his undergraduate degree in finance and later added a master’s degree in sports management from St. John’s University. He also has experience outside of the college game, serving as the Director of Coaching with the Brooklyn Italians. His younger brother graduated from Philadelphia University and played soccer at the school. His father also has ties to the game as a coach in Poland. REVOLUTION UNITED '99 BOYS WIN 2015 CT STATE CUP CHAMPIONSHIP The Revolution United FC ‘99 Boys won the 2015 Connecticut State Cup Championship with a 1-0 win over Hamden Ginga in the semi-finals and then gained an impressive 3-0 win over CFC United’s ‘99/’00s in the Finals to earn the right to compete in the Region-1 Championships. The 18 boys represented the Fairfield, Connecticut-based Revolution United FC and the great state of Connecticut on the grand stage of the US Soccer Region-1 Championships! Revolution United FC ’99 Boys Roster: Coach Floyd Neil, Co-Captain Matheus N, Co-Captain Chris J, Everett L, Jacob K, Thomas S, Tarcio A, Luis C, Anthony Z, Sam S, Andy M, Jared M, Jake S, Jonah M, Louis F, Edgar V, Christian B, Victor M and Kevin L. Revolution takes Jamaica by Storm Revolution United FC in April stormed Jamaica as part of a good will tour to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Coach Floyd Neil took the Revolution United U14 and U17 teams to Ocho Rios Jamaica to play the local high school teams. The Revolution U14 and U17 teams played 5 games during the week long trip along with playing the Resort Staff in a pickup game on the last full day in Jamaica. Along with the games the teams went to Dunn River Falls to see natures beauty that Jamaica has to offer, shopping, dolphin experience, snorkeling, fishing, as well as a trip to Steer Town Academy were some of the other activities the teams along with their parents participated in. Revolution United FC was awarded a certificate of appreciation for all of the donations they provided to the high schools. Revolution United FC U14 and U17 collected donations from companies, soccer clubs, parents and more to donate soccer balls, uniforms, cleats, backpacks, socks, shin guards and more to the teams Revolution played while in Jamaica.
